Custom Name Necklaces in Sandy Springs — Script, Block and Your Own Alphabet

A name necklace is one of the few pieces of jewelry that can only belong to one person. We cut them in script and in block, and we will show you the difference between the two before you decide.

Farsi Jewelers has been doing custom work in Sandy Springs since 1998. Come in with a name, a nickname, a child's name, a word in another language, and we will draw it first so you can see it at actual size on your hand before anything is cut.

Script or block

These are the two shapes almost everyone chooses between. Neither is more expensive than the other by default — the name itself matters more than the style.

Script Block
How it reads Flowing, connected, cursive Upright, separated capitals
Strength Letters support each other, so thin strokes are held in place Letters stand alone, so each one is cut with more body
Best for Longer names, a softer look, layering Short names, initials, a bolder modern look
Other alphabets Any language — we draw these individually Latin alphabet
Metals 14K yellow, white or rose; 18K and platinum on request 14K yellow, white or rose; 18K and platinum on request

What decides the price

There is no single price for a name necklace. Two things move it most, and both depend on the piece in front of us.

The name itself

More letters means a wider plate and more gold. A three-letter name and a nine-letter name are genuinely different pieces, which is why the price follows the name rather than a size chart.

The gauge — how thick the metal is

This is the difference you feel and the one photographs never show. A thin nameplate bends, catches on clothing and wears through at the connections. We cut ours heavier.

Made here, or ordered in

Both are real options and we will be straight with you about which suits the job.

Ordered in gives you a catalogue of proven styles, a known look, and a piece that arrives finished. It is the simpler path and often the faster one.

Made here means we draw the letterforms ourselves and cut them in the gauge we think the name needs. It is usually the heavier piece, and for an unusual name, another alphabet, or a word nobody has a template for, it is the only way to do it properly.

If you want a name on something simpler

A nameplate is not the only way to carry a name. These are in the case now, and the engraving on them is included in the price.

Questions we get asked

How much does a custom name necklace cost?

It depends on the name, the metal and the thickness. A short name is a very different piece from a long one, and we would rather quote you on your actual name than advertise a number that only applies to three letters. Bring us the name and we will price it while you wait.

Can you make a name in another language or alphabet?

Yes. We draw those individually rather than setting them from a font, because the proportions of the written form matter. Give us the spelling and we will show you the drawing before cutting.

Do I have to order online?

No. Most people come in, look at the two styles, and decide with the drawing in front of them. That is the part that is hard to do from a screen.

Bring us the name — we will draw it and price it in person. Walk-ins welcome at our Sandy Springs showroom.
