Jewelry Repair Services

Jewelry Repair Services

Ring sizing, prong repair, rhodium plating, stone replacement, watch repair, engraving and appraisals — all done in-house in Sandy Springs by a GIA Graduate Gemologist, since 1998. Nothing is shipped to a third party. Simple work like chain repair, rhodium plating, engraving and watch batteries is often same-day; ring sizing and prong repair typically take 4–5 days.

What We Can Help You With

Ring Sizing & Resizing

Up or down, including engagement and wedding rings. We adjust and refinish so the ring sits properly — no squeezing, no spinning. We will also tell you when a ring is better re-shanked than stretched.

Prong Repair & Retipping

Worn prongs are the most common reason a stone is lost. We rebuild the little metal claws that hold your stone and re-secure the setting before anything goes missing.

Rhodium Plating

Re-whitens white gold that has gone dull or yellowish. We polish first, then apply a fresh rhodium layer for a bright, mirror-white finish. Most white gold wants re-plating every 12–24 months depending on wear.

Chain & Necklace Repair

Solder breaks, clasp replacement and re-stringing. Most chains and bracelets can be laser-welded the same day — a few very fine or delicate chains we like to look at first.

Stone Setting & Replacement

Lost a diamond or gemstone? We match cut, color, clarity and size — natural or lab-grown — and set it so the repair does not show.

Jewelry Engraving

Dates, initials and custom messages on rings, pendants and bracelets, in any font and any language including Hebrew, Farsi and Arabic. Not just lettering: symbols, logos, family crests, signatures and drawings as well, quoted once we see the file. Laser engraving is often same-day; hand engraving is available for special pieces. Watch Battery & Band Service

Battery replacement tested and swapped while you wait, plus band sizing and band replacement.

Stuck Ring Removal

Ring stuck on your finger? In many cases we can safely remove it in-store. Please call first at 770-206-8000 so we can go over your situation before you come in.

Pearl & Bead Re-Stringing

Re-knotted and re-strung by hand, with the original clasp refitted or replaced as needed.

Heirloom & Antique Restoration

Careful, reversible work on sentimental pieces — strengthening settings, replacing worn components and renewing finish while keeping the original character.

Jewelry Appraisals

Insurance-ready documentation by our in-house GIA Graduate Gemologist — accurate, detailed, and accepted by major carriers. Learn about appraisals →

Cleaning, Polishing & Inspection

Buff away light scratches and restore shine, with a check of the settings while the piece is in front of us. Free on any piece we made, as part of Lifetime Care.

Same-Day Jewelry Repair

Short on time, or just passing through? Many of our most-requested services are done while you wait or the same day at the Sandy Springs showroom:

  • Watch battery replacement — tested and swapped while you wait.
  • Watch band adjustment — links added or removed for a comfortable fit.
  • Polishing — light scratches buffed out, shine restored.
  • Rhodium re-plating — the bright white finish brought back on white-gold pieces.
  • Clasp replacement — new clasps fitted on chains and bracelets.
  • Jewelry engraving — dates, initials and messages, laser-engraved same day in most cases. Artwork and logos take a little longer, since the file has to be prepared first.
  • Solid wedding band sizing — solid bands with no stones can usually be stretched to fit the same day, without soldering.
  • Chain & bracelet laser repair — most are laser-welded the same day. Very fine or delicate chains we like to see first, so call, text or stop by and we will let you know.

Other repairs such as ring sizing and prong work typically take 4–5 days. Text a photo to 770-206-8000 and we will give you an exact timeline.

Service Pricing — Starting At

A few of our most-requested services have a simple starting price. Everything else we are glad to quote once we see the piece, so you get an accurate number rather than a guess.

  • Watch battery replacement — from $25
  • Rhodium plating — from $75
  • Laser soldering (chain & bracelet repair) — from $65
  • Jewelry engraving, lettering — from $45 per line, often same day. Any font, any language. Details →
  • Jewelry engraving, artwork and crests — quoted once we see the file. The cost is in preparing the artwork rather than running the laser, so it comes to less if you bring a vector file (DXF, AI, EPS or PDF). If all you have is a photo, we can convert it.
  • Ring sizing & general repairs — quoted per piece, after we take a look

Prices move with the metal, the gold weight and the work involved. Call or text 770-206-8000 for an exact price.

Jewelry Restoration & Heirloom Redesign

Real bench work at Farsi Jewelers — stone setting in progress at our Sandy Springs workshop. The same in-house hands handle every repair, from prong rebuilds to full restorations. Nothing is outsourced.

Beyond simple repairs, we restore vintage and well-loved pieces — strengthening settings, replacing worn components and renewing finish while preserving their original character.

We can also redesign family heirlooms into something you will wear every day. We remove the stones, reuse your gold or platinum for sentimental value, and build a fresh design that honors the original.

Have gold you do not wear at all? We also take it as trade-in credit toward a new piece.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer same-day repairs?
Several services are same-day or while-you-wait: watch battery replacement, watch band adjustments, polishing, rhodium re-plating, clasp replacement, jewelry engraving, solid wedding band sizing, and chain or bracelet laser welding (most chains same day; very fine or delicate ones we confirm first). Ring sizing and prong re-tipping typically take 4–5 days. Text a photo to 770-206-8000 and we will give you an accurate timeline.
Why are most repairs quoted in person?
As a specialty shop working with high-end and one-of-a-kind pieces, most repairs depend on details we need to see first — the metal and the current price of gold, how wide or detailed the band is, and whether there are stones involved. Ring sizing is a good example: white gold also needs rhodium plating on top, so the price moves with the piece and the metal. A clasp ranges widely by type, and prong or stone work depends on whether the stone is a diamond or a color stone, and whether it can safely take heat. Rather than quote a number that changes once we look, we give you an accurate price after we have seen the piece.
Can you size a plain wedding band the same day?
Often, yes — a solid band with no stones can usually be stretched to fit while you wait, no soldering needed. Sizing that involves stones or soldering typically takes 4–5 days.
Do you resize engagement rings?
Yes. We resize engagement and wedding rings in most metals, and will tell you when a ring is better re-shanked than stretched.
Can you get a ring off a stuck finger?
In many cases, yes. Please call us first at 770-206-8000 so we can go over your situation before you come in.
Can you engrave a logo, a crest or a signature — not just lettering?
Yes. Alongside dates, initials and messages from $45 per line, we engrave symbols, logos, family crests, signatures and drawings exactly as given. Artwork is quoted separately once we see the file, because the cost is in preparing the artwork rather than running the laser — a simple symbol is quick, while a photograph or a piece of handwriting has to be converted and cleaned up first. It costs less if you bring a vector file (DXF, AI, EPS or PDF), and if all you have is a photo or a screenshot, we can convert it. More on engraving →
Can you replace a missing diamond or gemstone?
Yes. We match natural or lab-grown stones to your piece for cut, color, clarity and size, then set them securely.
How often should I rhodium plate white gold?
Most clients re-plate every 12–24 months depending on wear. We polish first, then apply a fresh rhodium layer.
Who does the repair work?
We do — in-house, by a GIA-trained jeweler. Nothing is shipped off to a third party.
Who performs appraisals?
Appraisals are performed by our in-house GIA Graduate Gemologist and are insurance-ready. Learn more about our appraisal service →
Can you redesign my heirloom and reuse my metals and stones?
Yes. We can remove your stones, melt and reuse your metal when it is suitable, and build a fresh design that keeps the sentimental heart of the original.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome for quotes and drop-off. Booking a time means we can look at your piece with you right away. We are easy to reach off Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, and most small repairs can be dropped off and picked up within a few days. For complex restoration or heirloom redesign, please book an appointment.
