Product Details
A freeform bypass engagement ring in 14K yellow gold, designed around a 2.04 carat lab-grown diamond cut as an elongated hexagon step cut. This is a custom design made for one client at our Sandy Springs store, and the same design can be made again around a stone of your choosing.
About the shape. An elongated hexagon step cut is a long six-sided outline with short, flat ends and rows of parallel step facets, the same faceting family as an emerald cut. It reads as clear, open flashes of light rather than the fine sparkle of a brilliant cut, so the color and clarity of the stone are on full display. Its close cousin, the Dutch marquise, shares the six-sided outline but comes to a point at each end and is usually cut for brilliance; this stone is the flat-ended, step-cut version, which the GIA report describes as a modified hexagonal step cut.
Center stone: 2.04 carat lab-grown diamond, E color, VVS2 clarity, elongated hexagon step cut, graded by GIA. The report number is listed with the product details.
The setting. A bypass ring is one where the two ends of the band do not meet. Here they pass each other, one arm rising under each long side of the stone so the diamond sits held between them rather than on top of a conventional head. The freeform line follows the hexagon's angles instead of a symmetrical mount, which is what gives the ring its sculpted, one-of-a-kind look. Solid 14K yellow gold.
Made to order. Custom engagement rings are designed and made at our Sandy Springs store and take 2 to 3 weeks. Each one is priced for the stone and design in front of us, so a version of this ring in a different carat weight, metal color, or with a natural diamond is quoted individually. Paid in full at the time of order.
Shipping & Pickup
Every package we send is fully insured and requires a signature — no exceptions. Orders of $349 and up ship free within the U.S., typically in 3–4 business days, with faster UPS air options available at checkout.
We ship through Parcel Pro, a UPS company that specializes in insured jewelry shipping. If waiting at home for a signature is inconvenient, your package can be routed to a nearby UPS Store instead — you receive a secure code by email and collect it whenever suits you. Residential deliveries require someone over 21 to sign.
Orders placed by 2:00 PM ET for ready-to-ship items ship the same day; orders placed after 2:00 PM ET ship the next business day. For made-to-order pieces, please allow 15 business days; if you need it sooner, email us — we accommodate rush orders regularly.
In-store pickup is always free at our Sandy Springs showroom.
Lifetime Care
Bring your piece back to us any time for cleaning, inspection and re-tightening — no charge. We check the stones and prongs while you wait.
Many repairs are done the same day, on our own bench in Sandy Springs, by the people who made it. Ring sizing and prong repair typically take four to five days.
We use responsibly sourced materials, including lab-grown diamonds and recycled gold.
