An emerald cut is a step cut: long, open facets that throw broad, glassy flashes of light rather than the fine sparkle of a round. Laid end to end in a channel, the row reads as one clean line of light rather than nine separate stones.

The channel holds each stone between two smooth walls of metal, so nothing sits proud of the surface to catch on clothing or wear against another ring. It is a substantial band — wide enough to stand on its own rather than stack.
